"The Evangelion of magical girl anime"

I've resisted using this shorthand here, but here goes:

LOL.

(...or rather, "heh"? Naw, "heh" implies agreement; I only find it hilarious)

For the record, I enjoyed Madoka despite not being much of a "magical girl" genre fan.

But I think they had to drastically rework the ending because of the awful earthquake and tsunami tradgedy that happened right before it aired (as evident by the destruction in the flash-forward scenes). Because there are parts of that episode that don't mesh with the rest of the show at all.

Still enjoyed it though.
