The last Noir Year's Eve?

I picked up the BluRay of Cowboy Bebop and it's as excellent as you'd imagine.

And I think Noir is no longer my favoritist show ever...

I finally made it through a Noir Year's Eve, though I only started with the Tawain arc, which more or less matches up when I passed out during my attempt at "Noiriversarry" with this BluRay set.

But I have to be honest; I'm not in love with Noir anymore.

Earlier this year, I got a chance to meet up with an old crush of mine. I was completely freaked out about the possibility: she was gone and far away for a very long time and my old obsession still lingered and I was anxious, to say the least. But spending time with her, I knew that I was totally over it, and I was totally ready to move on.

Same kind of goes for Noir.

I had a crush -- a really big crush -- on Noir; and that was what spawned this blog and the BTF forum and everything else. And I'm totally certain that it's gone and I'm over it and there's so much out there that's better that I am a bit sad that I no longer find my most favoritist cartoon ever to be the most awesome anymore.

I want to reiterate that I will always like Noir...

But I don't love it anymore and I will probably not stress about "Noiriversarry" or "Noir Year's Eve" anymore. I have the Japanese BluRay set, and that's enough. I might spend more time with Bebop or X'amd or maybe something new. There's a lot of wonderful shows and animators and things to obsess over, and I'll have to look for them and make them my focus.

But I don't think I'll ever fall in love with a show like I did with Noir ever again. That's fine. I don't regret it; I cherish it. But it's done now.

*sigh*
